Electrocardiogram

An Electrocardiogram (ECG) is a recording of the electrical activity of the heart obtained by placing stickers containing electrodes on the limbs and the surface of the chest. This simple procedure provides a basic assessment of the electrical function of the heart.

The Electrocardiogram test usually takes about 30 minutes. The test is carried out in the Cardiology Department of the Galway Clinic. The results of the test is seen later by your Consultant.
