Electrocardiogram

An ECG is a recording of the electrical activity of the heart obtained by placing stickers containing electrodes on the limbs and the surface of the chest. This simple procedure provides a basic assessment of the electrical function of the heart.

It is not necessary to be admitted to the hospital for this procedure, which takes about 30 minutes. You come to the Cardiology Department to have the test carried out. The result of the test is seen later by your Consultant.
