Mother Teresa Unit has a skilled team of nurses working effectively as part of a Multi disciplinary team. When you are admitted to our unit, a named nurse will be assigned to take care of you day and night. If possible, the same nurse will look after you for the duration of your stay with us. We encourage patients and family members where appropriate to participate in their own care especially with regards decision-making during hospital stay.
About the unit
Preparation for a planned procedure and hospitalization is critical. If you are booked in for a procedure and require further information, we have several patient information leaflets which could be sent out to you to enhance your knowledge and, perhaps, alleviate anxieties induced by the “unknown”.
Please remember to leave valuables especially jewellery and large sums of money at home and tell us about personal items such as dentures and hearing aids so we can safely store them if you are having surgery.
Finally, we like to start discharge planning on admission, therefore, if you anticipate any additional requirements such as convalescence, please inform us on admission.
