Vascular Ultrasound Laboratory
In the Vascular Laboratory, we are committed to providing the best quality service for individuals suffering from vascular disease. We aim to provide an easily accessible and supportive service for everybody.
Vascular physiologists provide non-invasive diagnostic studies to help doctors in the diagnosis of medical conditions. Ultrasound is used to create non-invasive views to the bloodstream, helping to locate thrombosis, stenosis, aneurysm and other vascular system abnormalities. Photo plethysmography and continuous wave (CW) Doppler are used to assess presence and adequacy of blood flow to different areas of the body.
Our vascular consultants at Galway Clinic are experts in arterial and venous disorders. Our vascular surgeons are accomplished in vascular, endovascular and venous treatments.
The vascular laboratory is located in Suite 26 and available by consultant or GP referral to facilitate all of your non-invasive vascular diagnostic needs.
Outpatients are scanned on the day of the request if at all possible. All patients leave the unit with a report allowing you to make an informed decision regarding their further treatment.
