Galway Clinic Physiotherapist presents at the British Orthopaedic Ass Congreaa

Elaine Burke musculoskeletal physiotherapist from the Galway Clinic recently presented at the British Orthopaedic Association Congress held in Belfast last week.

Elaine was one of the Irish Orthopaedic Association delegates invited to present on Friday September 16th.

Elaine presented the findings of our study to investigate if hamstring pain affected muscle strength post Anterior Cruciate Ligament recon-struction.

The patient subjects underwent isokinetic (computerised) muscle testing 5 months post operation. The final conclusion was that hamstring pain immediate post surgery does not lead to deficits in hamstring strength 5 months post surgical ACL reconstruction.

If you would like to find out more about the study and/or isokinetic com-puter muscle testing just contact physiotherapy on 091 78 5450/5457 or e-mail: physio@galwayclinic.com
