JCI Accreditation for the sixth time - Feb 2023

Our hospital underwent a rigorous on-site survey earlier this month being assessed on the 7thEdition of the Joint Commission International standards. Expanding and enhancing our knowledge through collaboration ensures staff empowerment, that we learn from defects and that we hold a strong sense of shared accountability for Patient Safety. Our organisation was prepared and staff demonstrated their commitment and enthusiasm in each Department. During the survey, a team of Joint Commission International expert surveyors evaluated compliance with hospital standards related to a variety of areas. Joint Commission International are the premier health care quality improvement and accrediting body in the world.

Exceptional Care should not be the exception to the rule, for in transforming our organizational processes and culture, we will find value in the insights, tools and techniques we embrace. Being accredited by a regulatory body such as JCI, ensures we remain a high reliability organisation supporting our clinical practices and operations which help keep our patients safe while improving care and services. Commitment to being a highly reliable organization ensures that patients are our priority and that there is a relentless focus on Quality, Safety and Patient Experience. Staff from across our organisation continue to work together to develop and implement approaches and strategies that have the potential to improve care for the patients in our community. Joint Commission International’s hospital standards are developed in consultation with worldwide health care experts and providers, measurement experts, and patients. The standards are informed by scientific literature and expert consensus to help our organisation measure, assess and improve performance.
