Graduate of RCSI 1991. Dr. Lappin was awarded a PhD in medicine under the supervision of Professor Hugh Brady in UCD in 2002 prior to completing specialist registrar training in nephrology and general medicine in UK in 2003. He subsequently commenced his appointment as Consultant Nephrologist and General Physician to Galway University Hospitals in June 2003. Dr. Lappin was the National Specialty Director for Renal training from 2005 to 2008 and was appointed founding Clinical Director for the department of medicine in Galway University Hospitals.
